Our temperate climate allows all sorts of recreational activities. One has the choice of 35 parks to enjoy, numerous golf courses, fresh and saltwater fishing, bird watching, lakes, rivers, the beach off the Gulf of Mexico, hunting, canoeing at Village Creek State Park, and the Big Thicket National Preserve.

A major attraction in Beaumont is the Ford Park. Southeast Texas State Fair, festivals, rodeos, ice shows, concerts; much entertainment is offered right here in Beaumont. All of the area festivals will keep you busy year round. Gatorfest in Anahuac, Winnie Rice Festival, Mardi Gras, Independence Day Celebration, Pecan festival and Scarecrow Festival are just a few.

After all of this activity you have over 260 restaurants located in the Beaumont area; almost every possible taste can be satisfied from authentic Mexican and Cajun dishes to Sushi or Bar-B-Que. Our Crocket Street Entertainment District also offers fine dining, night clubs, and evening entertainment in the renovated historic buildings of old town Beaumont.

Southeast Texas offers great culture, fine arts, a symphony, dance, and the Art Museum of Southeast Texas. A touch of class to appease the more culturally refined taste. The city hosts two acute-care hospitals, a rehabilitation hospital, numerous outpatient clinics, a bone and joint clinic, and a Veterans Administration clinic.
